This Privacy Policy explains how Surfaced (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects information when you use our website and the Surfaced application (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

• Account information. Your name, email address, agency name and any branding (logo, accent colour, custom domain) you add to your account.
• Project data. The brands, client labels, domains, prompts and competitors you configure for tracking.
• Waitlist signups. If you request early access, we store the email address, optional agency name and any referral parameters you arrived with.
• Usage and billing. Basic usage data and, for paid plans, billing details handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers.

How we use information

• To run weekly AI-visibility checks and generate the reports you configure.
• To operate, secure and improve the Service, and to provide support.
• To send transactional and report emails you have asked to receive.
• To process payments and manage subscriptions.

AI engines and third parties

To check where AI assistants recommend a business, the prompts you configure are sent to third-party AI providers (including the operators of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity) via our model gateway. We share only the prompt text needed to run a check — never your account credentials. We also use service providers for hosting, database, email delivery and payments, each acting under contract on our behalf.

Data retention

We retain account and project data for as long as your account is active. You may delete projects at any time, and request deletion of your account by contacting us. Waitlist entries are retained until you ask us to remove them.

Security

Access to your data is scoped to your account through row-level security, and data is encrypted in transit. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these, email us at hello@surfaced.app.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, communicated to you directly.
